  • B.Sc. in Hospitality Studies is now included in the science stream in many universities. It is a 3-year course, like other B.Sc. courses. Students from any stream can join this course after passing their 12th examination with a minimum of aggregate 50% marks. Moreover, they may need to pass an admission test conducted by the universities. Successful students can get the jobs of cabin crew in airlines, catering officers, and marketing officers in hotel industry, leading to a hotel manager’s job after a few years.
  • B.Sc. in Hotel Administration and Hospitality Management is another degree course that is fast gaining popularity among students for its lucrative job prospects. They can expect various jobs in hotels, restaurants, and airlines. It is also a 3-year course that is divided into 6 semesters. Students learn the functions of all hotel departments, like front office, kitchen management, and housekeeping. They only need to get 50% aggregate marks in their 12th examination and pass the entrance examination conducted by the universities, to be admitted to this graduation course. 

Students may also pursue B.Sc. in Culinary Arts, where they learn hygienic ways of kitchen operations and food preparations, to take up the profession of kitchen manager or chef in professional life. Diploma course in Front Office and Accommodation Management is a short hospitality course, which will help students to gain jobs as front office executives, receptionists, and customer service executives.
